You can sing…but can you swing?! is the popular choral jazz workshop devised and led by composer and jazz musician Alexander L’Estrange and his wife Joanna Forbes L’Estrange, jazz vocalist and former Musical Director of the Swingle Singers.
This dynamic duo have presented their workshop to professional and amateur choirs of all ages and ability with great results every time. Alexander and Joanna, also known as jazz duo L’Estranges in the Night, expertly show choirs how to sing jazz through explanation and demonstration, defying anyone who claims that it’s impossible to teach people to swing, that you’ve either got it or you haven’t!
Stephen Layton, conductor of the world-renowned choir of Trinity College Cambridge, booked Alexander and Joanna to give a coaching session on the jazz arrangements for their latest CD recording (summer 2015). The singers gained so much from the experience that Joanna was promptly booked for the whole week, to assist on the recording sessions!
Why not book Alexander and Joanna to lead a You can sing…but can you swing?! workshop with your choir? They will get you swinging like you’ve never swung before!
