The St Helen's Service

By Joanna Forbes L'Estrange

The St Helen’s Service is a modern congregational setting of the communion service/mass composed by Joanna Forbes L’Estrange. Named after St Helen’s Church in Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, for whose choir and congregation it was commissioned, the style is fresh and modern with echoes of Taizé music, simple enough to be accessible for congregations whilst retaining enough interest musically for parish church choirs. The accompaniment is for organ; there are also band parts for piano, guitar, bass and drums which are available as downloads.

What are parish church choirs are saying about this setting?

"it just sounds sublime"
"it makes you want to glorify God"
"uplifting and upbeat"
"wonderful, uplifting, prayerful"
"a joy to sing"
"a refreshing change from the Thorne"
